Rare G5 Geomagnetic Storm Unleashes Stunning Aurora Borealis and SAR at low latitudes

A G5 geomagnetic storm produced a beautiful and relatively clearly visible Aurora Borealis, missing since 2003, as a consequence night skies have been beautifully coloured.

“We have a very rare event” Shawn Dahl, Service Coordinator of NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Group, told reporters on Friday (May 10).

In this case even our eyes have been able to see the colors of the Aurora at relatively meridional latitudes.

Below we can see some photographic captures of this beautiful phenomenon, seen as far as the latitude 24.7°  N!
