An unprecedented event occurred in Dubai yesterday, 16 April 2024, where precipitations above the annual average fell on the city.
Some meteorological stations have reported up to 100 mm in about 12 hours, at the airport has been recorded about 160 mm of rain, that is almost double the annual average precipitation.

Two other interesting data to point out are that the April average precipitation in Dubai is about 4 mm and that, from the start of reliable data collection for the city (1949), this is the first time such an event occurs.
